Getting started with Critical Ops

Q:What is Critical Ops?

A:
Are you ready for a no-nonsense, action-packed first-person shooter?

Critical Ops is a fast-paced FPS for mobile devices, that will test your reflexes and tactical skill. Experience the thrill of modern terrorist warfare as you fight a critical strike operation as a counter-terrorist or aim to cause destruction as a terrorist. Fight for domination alongside your friends, or show the world your skill by leading the individual scoreboard. Join the competitive combat in the most skill-based portable FPS!

The game is currently in beta phase: Critical Ops is still under development, but you can download and play the game now! We will keep working on the game continuously to fix bugs, improve optimization and add a ton of new features and content to the game!

Critical Ops is not and will never be pay-to-win, but you can purchase camos to customize your favorite weapons.

Q:Where can I find Critical Ops?

A:

You can download Critical Ops from Google Play store or from Amazon App Store for Android devices and from Apple App Store for iOS devices.

Q:What are the minimum requirements to play Critical Ops?

A:
On Android, your device must have Android version 4.4 or later.
On iOS, we support version 10.0 or later.
Devices with 1Gb of RAM or more are supported.
If your device is incompatible or you can’t download the game from the official marketplace for your device, please take notice that our game does not support rooted or otherwise emulated devices.

Q:Can I still play on PC or Mac?

A:
The PC version has been closed down and is no longer available. The game is only available for mobile devices.

The Facebook Gameroom version was permanently shut down on 10th July 2017, after long and thorough consideration. We decided to focus on the mobile versions of the game, since our main audience is there. We are very grateful to all of our PC players, hope you had fun playing the game on your computer, and invite you to continue playing on your mobile device.

Q:How do I start playing?

A:

Simply tap ’Play’ from the main menu, Quick Games and Custom Games are available to all new players. Tap on one of the game modes, or Custom Games for a more filtered experience based on your preferences.

Game Modes, Maps and Features

Q:Quick Games

A:
Quick Games are quick, match made games with a warm up period.

Defuse

In Defuse, the terrorist team try to plant the bomb and defend it until it detonates, and the counter-terrorist team tries to stop them. The round ends when the bomb has detonated or has been defused. You can also win by eliminating the enemy team before the bomb has been planted. The team that reaches 4 round victories first, wins the match.

Team Deathmatch

Opposing teams keep killing each other until the timer runs out. The team with the most kills wins.

Gun Game

Gun Game is a game mode that’s played in teams, but where all players individually try work their way through all the weapons in the game, where each kill works towards leveling up to the next weapons in the list.

Q:Maps

A:
There are eight maps to choose from. Bureau, Canals, Grounded, Legacy, Plaza, Brewery, Division, and Raid our newest map.

New maps are constantly being worked and will be added in future releases.

Q:Ranked

A:
Ranked offers players a more competitive form of the defuse game mode with intense match made games.

To play ranked you need to achieve 250 player kills in Custom Games or Quick Games.

When you start playing ranked, you will play a series of placement matches and be given your initial rank. After this, you are awarded and deducted rank points based on the result of ranked games, depending on if you win or lose. These points will determine if you are promoted or demoted in rank.

Please note that leaving three or more ranked games will result in a 48-hour or two day leaver penalty. We suggest you only play ranked on a stable connection and when you have time to finish the ranked game that you started.

The team that reaches 9 round victories first, wins the match.

Q:Custom Games

A:
Custom Games are based on the classic room system. Join or create a room as you wish. Perfect for scrims or trying things out.
Defuse
In Defuse, the terrorist team try to plant the bomb and defend it until it detonates, and the counter-terrorist team tries to stop them. The round ends when the bomb has detonated or has been defused. You can also win by eliminating the enemy team before the bomb has been planted. The team that reaches 13 round victories first, wins the match.

Q:Regional Matchmaking

A:
We now offer regional only matchmaking for ranked games. This means you will only look for ranked matches in your selected region.

Enabling this option will ensure better connectivity, but might cause longer queue times.

You can toggle this option by:
1. Tap ’Play’ in the main menu.
2. Tap ’Custom Games’.
3. Tap on the ’Filters’ tab.
4. Scroll to the bottom and select ’Server’.
5. Either enable or disable regional matchmaking by tapping on the ’Regional matchmaking’ checkbox.

Note, the region you have selected under ’Select Region’ will be the region used for matchmaking.

Q:Clans

A:
Players can create clans to play together with friends. The clan members receive a clan tag, which is visible in-game. The number of members in a clan is limited, but it is possible to add more slots in the clan up to 50 players.

In the future, we plan to implement other social features, which would allow players from two clans to compete against each other for rewards, chat with each other and interact in other ways as well.

To create a clan, go to the social menu and tap on ’create clan’. Once you have your clan up and running, you can invite players to join your clan.

To join a clan, you need to get invited to join one. I suggest you join our social media for an invite to an existing clan. There are a lot of clans recruiting on our Facebook and Discord.

Q:Critical Pass

A:

Critical Pass is our player progression system.

You can choose to purchase the Elite version or to simply complete the free version of the Critical Pass.

Critical Pass is season based and will introduce unique rewards for each season. These rewards will include skins, credits and other in-game content. The rewards can be unlocked by earning experience points, XP. XP is earned by completing ranked and quick games; if you leave a match before it ends, you will not earn XP.

Q:Daily Missions

A:

Each day, you will be given a daily mission with in-game objectives. Once you reach these objectives you can turn in your mission for credits.

When turning in the mission you can choose to boost the credits you receive by watching an ad.

You can have up to three daily missions at the same time, and once all of the missions are completed, you will be given one new mission per day.

Q:Milestones

A:

Milestones provide long-term goals and help to keep track of your weapon specific statistics.

When you complete a milestone tier, you are given a reward. Each milestone shows your progress towards the current objective. You can check your milestones from your player profile.

Currently, the rewards from milestones are either Tier Cases or Credits.

Q:Reporting System

A:

You can report players by tapping on their name in the scoreboard while in a game. Scroll down to ’report’ and select the category you want to report the player for.

The report categories are currently the following:

  • Idle — players that are idle (do nothing) or AFK during a game.
  • Hacking — players that you strongly suspect of hacking or using other types of cheats.
  • Abusive chat — toxic or abusive players in the in-match chat.
  • Griefing — players that harass others with unsportsmanlike behavior.

Q:Friends System

A:

You can add friends in-game, through the social menu. You can see when your friend is online or in-game and join the directly in a custom game. You can also chat with friends and form a team to queue up together.

Hot topics

Q:There is a hacker in the game! What to do?

A:

Use the in-game reporting tool, tap on the player’s profile in the scoreboard and report the player.

If you want to manually report a hacker, we need proper video footage as proof of the offence that the user has committed. Screenshots only are not reliable enough.

Upload your video to YouTube or Google Drive and post the link to the video, so we can add the link of the video in the banned player’s profile, in case of appeals.

Send your video evidence to reportahacker@criticalforce.fi or contact us through the in-game help tool.

Q:Can I be a moderator?

A:

We no longer have in-game moderators, this means that unfortunately you can’t become one.

Q:I can’t play ranked due to a penalty, what to do?

A:

If you leave, AFK or disconnect from three or more ranked games, you will be given a ranked leaver penalty, which means you cannot play ranked for the next 48 hours.

This penalty is not a ban, and will be lifted automatically once the penalty is over. You can still play Custom and Quick Games while the penalty is active.

Q:I have received a permanent ban, what to do?

A:

The ban you have received is either for hacking or a severe ToS, Terms of Service, violation.

This ban was verified by developers, this means the malicious activity has been confirmed.

These bans are intended as harsh punishments and not a slap on the wrist. If you use hacks, modified installations, virtualization tools or emulators you will receive a permanent ban.

These bans are permanent, and we do not unban players with permanent bans for hacking or ToS violations.

Q:I did not get my credits for completing an offer.

A:

Please note, that sometimes it takes time to receive the credits from offers. Check the offer or the ad for the time. Our company is not responsible for the ads or the offers. They are made by the ad provider. If you don’t get the credits after completing the offer, please contact support for the ad provider through the game and leave a request there.

Game Performance

Q:My game gets stuck in loading or closes the app after loading!

A:

This sounds like the game is dealing with memory issues.

Your device must have 1Gb RAM or more to run the game. If you have over 1Gb RAM and this still happens, try to close down other apps that you are running, before launching the game.

Q:Why is my game lagging or crashing?

A:

If you experience performance issues or crashes, try to close down other apps that you are running, before launching the game. Make sure any battery saving features are turned off. Also, please check that your cellular or WiFi connection is stable, before starting to play.

Try to scale down on the in-game graphical settings, if the FPS issues are consistent. Make sure that your device is not noticeably hot, this might produce thermal throttling which will affect your FPS and overall performance.

Update your device to the latest Android or iOS version, as well as the latest version of the launcher/ROM/OS for your device on Android.

Please ensure that you have enough free storage space on your device, additional space on an SD card will not help. If your device is running at near maximum capacity for memory it is more prone to crashes and other performance issues.

If you have tried all of the above and still experience poor performance, try the following:

  • Reinstall the game.
  • Turn your wifi off, clear Critical Ops’ cache off of your device, turn the wifi back on.
  • Restart your network router or modem. If you are using cellular data, turn airplane mode on and off.
  • Reboot your device.

Q:My game gets stuck in authentication. What can I do?

A:

The most common reason for this, is that you changed the password of the account your Critical Ops account was linked to. Restart your device, and it should help. If not, try reinstalling the game.

Credits and Payments

Q:What can I buy from the store? How to get credits?

A:

With real money, you can purchase credits, the currency that is used to purchase in-game items. Credits can also be earned by completing missions, milestones, the Critical Pass, watching ads and completing offers.

With credits you can buy cases that contain skins for the weapons. The skins only offer a cosmetic enhancement, they do not change gameplay in any way. Cases contain a randomly determined skin, if you obtain a previously owned skin when opening a case, you will receive blue tokens, a currency that can be used to buy skins directly from the loadout menu.

Q:Refund

A:

As with most downloadable software products, items bought through our games are most of the time non-refundable. The transaction process is controlled by Apple (for iOS devices), Google (for Android devices) or Amazon (Amazon devices).

For Apple (iOS) devices:

Go to Apple support page, scroll down until you find the “Get Support” -button. Choose “Apps & Software”, then “Mac App Store” and in the end and select “Purchases, billing and redemption” and choose the option that fits you best.

For Google (Android) devices:

Go to Google Play Help and click “Refunds & returns” to choose the option that suits you.

For Amazon devices:

Go to Amazon Appstore, scroll all the way down, and click “Help”. Choose “Returns & Refunds” and then search for the option that suits you the best.

NOTE: You can easily manage the ability to make in-app purchases, adjust password protection settings, or disable in-app purchases entirely through your mobile device’s general settings. The way to do this depends on whether you’re using an Apple iOS device, like an iPhone or an iPad, a Google Android device or an Amazon Fire tablet. Either way, the instructions you need are here:

Apple

Google

Amazon

Q:The game crashed when I was opening a case and now I lost a skin!

A:

The skins from opened cases NEVER disappear, even if the game crashes at the moment of the case opening. When a case is opened, the item from the case is placed in to your loadout menu or added as blue credits on our server side, the game crashing will never remove your skin or credits.

Please look through the loadout menu carefully, a single new skin can be easy to miss.

Q:Can I have some skins, please?

A:

We do not give cases, credits, skins or knives from support. The only way to get skins is to open cases or to purchase skins from the loadout menu or flash sales.

Lost account

Q:I have lost my account, how can I get it back?

A:

If you haven’t linked your account to social media, unfortunately it has been lost. Try the following only, if you are sure you’ve linked your account to either Google, Game Center or Facebook.

1. Delete the application cache and data on Android from your device’s settings menu. On iOS uninstall and reinstall the app.

2. Complete the tutorial.

3. DO NOT link to Google, Game Center or Facebook yet.

4. Link to your account using either Facebook, Google or Game Center.

If this does not help, or another account is available for linking instead, most probably there is nothing we can do to help you get your account back. Please contact support for further details.

Q:I borrowed or shared my account and now it’s gone!

A:

Account sharing or trading is forbidden and it is against the Terms of Service of our game on all of the supported platforms. Account trading will lead to a permanent ban when discovered.

Unfortunately there is nothing we can do to help, if this has happened to your account.

Please remember that you should never share your account details with others. Also note, that nobody from Critical Force will ever ask for your password.

Q:The account my C-OPS was linked to was hacked and now my C-OPS account is gone!

A:

You should contact Facebook/Google/Apple App Store support right away and secure your account. We recommend changing your password, logging out of all open accounts and setting up two factor authentication.

There is nothing we can do to help, if you’ve lost access to the social media account linked to your Critical Ops account.

Q:I have discarded my account, what can be done?

A:

We’re sorry, but at this point there is nothing we can do to help with the problem, the account is gone. Once you link to another Critical Ops account, there is no way to restore the link.

Remember, using multiple accounts is not something we support or allow in our Terms of Service.

How can I use my credits?

Q:What can I buy from the store? How to get credits?

The rewards can be unlocked by earning experience points, XP. XP is earned by completing ranked and quick games; if you leave a match before it ends, you will not earn XP.

Q:Skins

A:

Skins are cosmetic enhancements for your weapons, that you can select from the loadout menu, to give your weapons a unique look.

You can purchase skin cases in the shop. Skin cases contain a random skin varying from tier 1 to tier 7, depending on the type of case that you purchase. When a case gives you a duplicate skin you’ll be compensated with blue tokens or event tokens that you can use to buy skins directly from the loadout menu. Skins are also available to be purchased directly from the store with credits when they are on offer as a flash sale.

Q:Flash Sales

A:

Looking for a specific skin that is just right for you? Now you can buy selected skins from the store with flash sales.

Every eight hours a new skin is on offer in the store. If the skin is to your liking, you can purchase it directly with credits, for a limited time period. The price of the skin is determined by the skin tier.

If you already own the skin on offer, the flash sale will not be visible to you.

Q:Tokens

A:

When you purchase a case and receive a skin that you already have, you will receive tokens. The amount of tokens received depends on the rarity of the duplicate skin that you get.

Tokens are a blue colored currency and can be used to purchase skins directly through the loadout menu.

Q:Event Tokens

A:

Event tokens are a new way to purchase event specific skins from the loadout menu. They work like blue tokens for event specific skins, if you get a duplicate skin, you will be granted event tokens based on the value of the skin.

After the event is over, the tokens will be converted to normal blue tokens.

Q:Cases

A:

Cases contain skins for the weapons. Cases contain a random skin varying from tier 1 to tier 7, depending on the type of case that you purchase. When a case gives you a duplicate skin you’ll be compensated with blue tokens that you can use to buy skins directly from the loadout menu.

Cases are bought with credits from the in-game shop. Some milestones also grant cases as a reward.

My account

Q:Linking an account

A:

You can link your C-OPS account to Facebook, Google Play or Game Center after you have played through the tutorial. Just tap your username in the upper left corner of the hub, then tap the social media type you want to link to and give the requested information to link your account.

A Critical Ops account can be linked to all three supported account types, meaning you can link your game account to Facebook, Game Center and Google at same time.

Please remember that you should never share your account details with others. Also note, that nobody from Critical Force will ever ask for your password.

Q:Can I give, lend, sell or purchase an account?

A:

Account sharing or trading is forbidden and it is against the Terms of Service of our game on all of the supported platforms. Account trading will lead to a permanent ban when discovered.

Please remember that you should never share your account details with others. Also note, that nobody from Critical Force will ever ask for your password.

Q:Can I change the Facebook, Google or Game Center account my C-OPS account is linked to?

A:

No, you can’t.

However, you are allowed to link to Facebook, Gamecenter and Google simultaneously. This comes in handy, for example, if you want to play on both iOS and Android. Simply link to Facebook, and you can access your account on both devices.

Q:Can I have more than one account on my device?

A:

Using multiple accounts on the same device is not allowed by our Terms of Service, and is not supported by us.

If you sign into multiple accounts on your device you might lose one or several in the process, and there is no way for us to recover the lost accounts. We strongly recommend using only one account to play the game.
